All my Fashion Week Looks in One Place!

Day I | Pretty Woman with a Touch of Sexy Sass!

Day I dawned bright and sunny, so I had little trouble picking out this beautiful pink, fit-and-flare dress with all its spring vibes! The dramatic, thigh-high split adds a sexy touch of sass to an otherwise demure design by independent fashion designer, Melina Cortes of Lallabee. This was the only paid collaboration I did at Fashion Week, and really, it was my favourite look to wear! All my other outfits are from shopping my own wardrobe, pretty much (!), but more on that later…

Adding the blue studded belt helps further define the waist at the focal point, where the blue, seaweed-like design is featured. Pairing the dress with pink suede, comfortable heels and statement John Galliano coat finished off this look with a burst of colour, which caught all the photographers’ eyes… or was it that split?!

The Ava dress is available at lallabee.com [and she’s now on sale]! [No affiliate link]. Everything else, stylists own!

Day II | High [and low] Drama in Magical Monochrome

Saturday sunshine was sadly amiss, but temperatures remained unseasonably mild, so Day II was all about the dress! Picking out this high-low dress, with dramatic shoulder ruching and high, lace-trimmed neck was a no-brainer. Toughening up the dress for daytime, I added black, Jimmy Choo, OTK boots, a punky, black Karen Millen leather waist cincher and my trusty, Zara biker jacket. Finishing it off with 4-inch black tassel earrings and Le Specs frames, I took to the streets, in a fast-paced strut [holding up my train to avoid the inevitable trip hazard]!

This red carpet dress was purchased last year at a South Florida boutique and is sadly no longer available.

Day II Nighttime Look - it got cold!

As the day progressed, the bare sleeves and biker were no longer enough! So, having booked a nearby hotel, I snuck off to change and warm up! Back in my John Galliano coat, I felt luxuriously warm. I chose to pair it with this mustard yellow sweater and printed leggings, matching colour with colour! I then ran off for drinks with my brother-in-law before hitting the next set of shows and after-parties.

Day III | Lilac Lovers of the World Unite!

This look needs little explanation! It is literally a lilac-fest! So here’s where my confession comes in - this super-soft, über-luxe, lilac, faux fur coat was purchased about a month before Fashion Week where I wore it for the first time. I had been on a self-imposed shopping ban, but I caved immediately when I found this on Topshop.com! Delighted it was a perfect match for my other lilac pieces, [all sourced last summer] I simply HAD to keep it. It sold out hours after I ordered it, so I guess I wasn’t the only one who fell for it’s lavender-infused charms!

Day II Nighttime Look | Venus in Phurr! | I simply had to wear feathers to the Pam Hogg show!

Ok, so here I went full on *Nikki* in a look that I just love for its fun, colour and feathers! When you have to travel to Fashion Week, there’s always going to be limit to what you can take (yes, there is)! So re-working key pieces to look different is a must-have skill if you want to be papped in different looks. Although this look is outré and not for the faint-hearted, I think the balance of colours works really well [if I do say so myself]. The key piece, in this respect, is the Zara knitted t-shirt (bought last summer). The fact that it includes the darker, blue-purple stripe makes it possible to introduce darker shades of purple and blue to the whole look. Peppering the silhouette with the darker pieces - necklace, belt and boots - draws the eye over the whole outfit, making it visually cohere.

Final day dawns after the latest, but most fun night of the whole week! And, of course, it’s the earliest start so far! Luckily, my choice of hotel, on The Strand itself, was ideal for the Paul Costelloe show taking place at Simpsons on The Strand, directly across the road. By now I had worn almost everything I’d brought, although I had a whole look that never made it to the shows at all. Today was dull and cooler than predicted so, back in my Galliano coat, I boldly paired this bright orange, ruched Versace dress with the purple OTK boots and dashed across 4 lanes of traffic to the show!

Day IV Look II | Colour Me Happy!

My practical nature kicked in here! Not only was it cool, it had also started raining. Heavily. So I bought a brolly from my hotel concierge (can’t believe I left home without one) and donned my trusty Stella Elyse boots to strut at a pace down The Strand to the last of the shows. To say this look was bright, is clearly an understatement. Even I was unsure about it, but it was comfortable and warm enough for the weather, and most of all, I could wear the flatforms for walking.
