Don't Sweat It!
[Still] Living for Loungewear…
Post sponsored by KatchMe UK
No-one could possibly claim that 2021 has kicked off as we’d hoped, but we do have much to feel optimistic about: our mass vaccination programme (here in the UK) is rolling out faster than any other in the world, we’ve learned a lot about ourselves and the depths of our resilience, and we’ve almost made it through Dry January (or indeed Veganuary), so that can only be a good thing!
Despite an overwhelming desire to resist living in loungewear, even I have to admit, that endless days indoors, with next to no reason to meet people and socialise, has resulted in an over-familiarity with sweatshirts and joggers! So once I accepted that, I realised I needed to up my casual, cosy, wardrobe game.
For me, grey is the ultimate colour for lounging. It’s brighter than black, so it doesn’t bring me down, it’s more forgiving than white as it won’t show every spec of dirt and it flatters my skin tone, even without makeup (true for most skin tones)!
Having said that, it doesn’t mean I haven’t worn a few jewels with my joggers. Adding that little bit of bling brings light to the face when you’re zooming, without curtailing the comfort factor of wearing an oversized sweatshirt.
There are incredible benefits to wearing joggers and a hoodie - the pockets! They’re great when you’re wandering around the house - I stuff mine with tissues, my glasses or phone (great for tracking those steps if you don’t wear a smartwatch) and even random sweeties for that snack you’ve been craving!
So while I still long for a reason to dress up in a ridiculously impractical and uncomfortable outfit with sky-high heels, in the meantime, check out some of the chic, pretty loungewear options I’m lusting after below, as we move into another month of lockdown living.
