Sparkles Are For Life, Not Just For Christmas

As a self-confessed over-dresser, I'm always ready to dig out the sparkles on an average Tuesday and bling my day away. However, not everyone is that way inclined, so here's my guide to my favourite top of the season, now 50% off at peacocks.co.uk

Read on, there's a style for everyone, whether you're a shrinking violet or a glitterbug!

Look 1: Santa Claus is Coming... to brunch

Keep it casual with your favourite skinnies and some killer heels.  I enjoy loading up on bling by adding sparkly blush shoes and a rose gold necklace, but a plainer shoe and a pair of pretty earrings would be enough.  The distressed jeans keep it cool and off-duty and the tailored jacket complete this daytime-appropriate look.  It will work for a special Christmastime brunch and beyond - just add pink Champagne for added pop!

Look 2. Oh I Wish it Could be Christmas Every Daytime Desk to Drinks!

At this time of year, there are loads of friends to see, colleagues to socialise with and drinks aplenty.  By adding sparkles to tonal, tailored, business separates you can nod to the season without losing your ambitionista cred.  This look could easily start off with a simple tee or pussybow blouse, then with a Wonder Woman style change in the office loo, you can pop on The Top of the Season, for a party-ready look fit for any C-suite lady-boss.

Look 3. Have Yourself a Merry Little Girls' Night

Amp up the vamp for cocktails and dancing the night away just like you did when you were 21!  While a pair of jeans might work with a cool cami on any other random girls' night out, at Christmastime it's fun to add a little more sparkle to your look - or in this case a LOT more!

The belt helps bridge the border between the two sequin types and brings a silvery element into the look, while the necklace echoes the belt in style, colour and form, rendering a holistic appearance to these mixed metallics.  The sunnies, however, are totally optional, and probably weather-dependent!

Look 4. Sparkle ALL the Way into New Year

If there's one night of the year to shine, it's NYE, so go all-out-glitter-fest for that New Year's kiss with the one you love... or the one you want!  Here, I paired some multi-coloured sequin flares, that have a mostly pinky-silvery appearance, with my top of the season to heighten the rose-gold factor and go all-out for a NYE look that's bound to startle!  Again, the belt, though optional, offers a pretty silver-gold junction between these different sequinned pieces and the necklace can be added (or not) for the full effect.

So there you have it - one top, four ways.  And the best part?  The top is down from £25 to £17.50 on peacocks.co.uk  Get it before it's gone!

Now go embrace your inner Dancing Queen!
